First session e-journal

In the name God
Here i'm gonna write about what happened in last session class
First of all, most of the listening class is very effective and all of students cooperate in class activities .
Last session at first, our teacher "Mrs. Mohammadi" teach 3 pages of listening book(Expanding tactic for listening) and ask some question from students. And we practice conversation with a partner two by two, in my opinion it was so useful. After that, one of our friends gave a lecture about listening, the topic was : "How we can improve our listening" the main point include 3 sentences:
1.If you want improve your listening, you should watch movie without subtitles
2.Listen to english songs without lyrics

In two last weeks Ms. Mohammadi taught lesson 6 ,7,8 and 9 from the book "expanding tactics for listening". and we practiced listening skills;we also talked about hardship and easiness of the book"expanding tactics for listening" that Ms.Mohammadi persuaded us to study this book by noticing to level of all of the students.
In continue we watched a very interesting and beautiful clip about earth and its phenomenon last session, just like the other session ,one of the students gave a lecture to the class and his lecture was about how to talk and how to improve our speaking skills.
In my opinion, listening skills class is excellent and very informative.and I think it would be better for the class when both sessions of each week be hold in language laboratory;because its space is better for lear

Last Saturday we have been taught how to raise and low intonations that refers to WH questions and yes/no questions .We have talked about different characteristics for about half an hour. Mohammad had a great lecture about listening and wrong ways about improving listening skill. We listened to the book’s CD and discussed a lot of things about it

Individually, I have learnt a lot of things from both our master and our friend. The intonation is one of my greatest problems so that session was very useful for me. In the other side, choosi

I was absent two weeks ago,but I'm going to tell you what happened last week.We did study the course book as usual. Then teacher played an audio file that a woman talked about park run, then teacher wanted us to take notes and talk about it .It was more challenging. After that our friends Mr.poor sultan and Mr.khabbazzadeh gave a presentation about the principles and several rules about listening under the name"10 principles of listening".It was useful.
For sure each session we learn new points e.g reduction of "going to"and "want to"or several rules and principles about listening were new points that I learned last session.
For the most part, all the activities are suitable for a listening class and teacher wants all the students to involve.Well, this is a good chance for shy students to have

In passive listening, the listener does not react to the ideas of the speaker but merely listens.

Well, here l'm going to explain whatever happened in last session. one of my friends Mohammad gave a lecture about improving listening skills. some important points such as:.
1.Not watching movies with subtitles cause in this situation the brain will focus on both reading subtitles and listening to voices. nearly 100% of attention will focus on reading and not listening. for this reason watching films with subtitles will hurt our listening skills. 2. Let English be in your life.lt helps you learn English step by step so you can listen to native speakers easily. 3.pay attention to intonations and pronunciations of every word you face. 4.Don't listen to English tapes just in your free time but in every chance you can get either in bus or while walking or etc. 5.listen to English songs for 2 o

It was perfect and I learned a lot from his speech. Especially the video clip that he played for us was very useful.
Last week Mrs Mohammadi played us an interesting voice about skydiving and space jumping which was so fascinating. Comparing this semester's listening class with last year's class, I think this year's class is much more better and Mrs. Mohammadi challenges our skills and ablilities every session.

After that Mahdi and I made a conversation about a strange story which was about a man who stuck in an elevator for two days. the next session Mohammad Reza Naser and I made another  conversation about one of our dear friends which we described his facial appearance.

Hello. I'm going to speak about the previous sessions of our English listening class.First of all we read and analyzed two units of the book (Tactics for listening) and it contained so many interesting listenings and they were so challenging. In first session The pronunciation practice was about changing formal forms like "going to" and "want to" into informal forms like "gonna" and "wanna". That was quite familiar and easy for us. After that Mrs. Mohammadi played some (two) podcasts for us that were about parkrun and environment, that I personally learned some useful words like Biodegradable, Pestiside etc.In second session two of my friends gave a lecture about 10 principles of listening that was really helpful and profitable. Hello Master Mohammadi..
I owe you an apology because of preparing my first E-journal too late than others..I was really flustered after my father's death and funeral..Hope you accept my excuse..

according to my friends lecture given last session :
I think The best way to improve is to listen to English a lot. There's no way around it, you have to spend hours and hours listening to people speaking English. Listen to things that interest you. If you don't enjoy something, it's going to be hard for you to continue. You'll get bored and stop. cretainly every person loves to spend his or her time listening to interested musics, so this feature can also be led over podcasts and English tapes..

The session on 6th of Azar started with a listening from Ted Talks. It was primarily about the educational system of America and the problems black people have with that.               You asked us to take note and share our understandings of the listening with our partners and then say what we had gotten from it. In fact you persuaded us to express ourselves and involved each student in that activity. I personally think your function as the main factor in keeping the whole class active by methods like that, is an important milestone in improving the class just like what the students expected. Silent students are not necessarily the inactive ones. Please consider this point. Thanks a bunch

I said creativity because sometimes we have to improvise and make a discussion by ourselves. She would play an audio book so we could solve the tasks. At the next session, our classmate Mr Ghahremoney gave a presentation on how to improve our listening ability. He represented some proved ways and some personal experiences to gain listening skills and he did play an educational video for us and it was very good. I personally learned useful stuffs from it. Passive Listening

According to the International Listening Association, listening is, “The process of receiving, constructing meaning from, and responding to spoken and/or nonverbal messages.”
There are a number of different types of listening including both active and passive listening, which are both important factors in effective communication. While active listening allows the listener to engage with the speaker, passive listening encourages the listener to observe the speaker quietly.

What Is Passive Listening ?
When a person is practicing passive listening, he is sitting quietly without responding to what the speaker is saying. When you listen to music or a podcast or even the news, you are practicing passive listening.Listening to a lecture in school or watching a movie both require passive

Second e-journal

Hello, this is my second e-journal on principles of good listening
1. Stop talking and just listen. There's a great quote say that if we were supposed to talk more than we listen we would have two tongues and one ear.
2.prepare yourself to listen. This way is totally related to mental talents. When you don't have enough mental preparation so how could you get the  points of the listening?
3. Help the speaker to feel free to speak. If someone is lecturing, don't just listen and leave but cooperate in his or her speech.
4. Focus on what is being said. Just get the main points and reach to a general view from that.
5. Listen to the tone. This way can help you to guess the correct words. A good speaker use tones and vowels to excite the audience.
I mentioned just 5 ways but not all of them i

1. About the book (tactics for listening) I must say the new version of this book has got better than the old one especially its new chart as pronunciation tips. Mrs Mohammadi, the master,  fortunately pays more attention to this chart so that our intonation will seem natural and also native.
And of course other activities like note-taking, transcribing and making conversations with each other make us use our mind more and more in an effective way, I think.
2. So far two of our friends has given lecture but as I was absent in the first lecture here I'd just like to comment on the lecture Mr.Gahramani gave. First I must admit he is really well-educated and fluent in English. He mentioned some important points that we can improve our English by putting them into practice; such as watching m

In the second part we tried to make some conversations and emphasized on how to raise and lower our intonation in a complex sentence!

In that presentation i tried to focus and concentrate on the ways we can rectify our listening problems magically!!!!! most of our classmates were satisfied of what i prsented and they mostly appreciated that clip that i prepayed.

What Has Been Happening ? #2

Alright, today I wanna write about the two sessions which were presented by Amir and Naser.
Amir didn't prepare an actual lecture, He edited a few speeches from the movie The Lord of The Rings which was boring for me because I'm not a big fan of that sequel. On the other hand, Naser's lecture wasn't quite bad. I mean It's true that he just read and carried on doing that via the power point's slides throughout his lecture but that ending video which was produced by TED was interesting indeed.
Naser's suggested methods for improving our listening was a total waste of time and energy.
What I'm trying to say is that the most of his suggested theories were impossible to do!
Anyway, These were his recommendations:
Live in an English speaking environment. (That's somehow possible, like we can com
